Braces.

Grace the brace face.

How do you like it?

I went and got myself some braces today. My mom and I were kinda late, so my mom dropped me off so she could park and I could grab the elevator and go on up without her.

Well, it took forever for the elevator to get there, and right when it was about to show up, this random guy came up and was going to walk on in with me. The two of us, in an elevator, all by ourselves? It would've been an adventure, but I let it pass, and told him I was waiting for my mom.

Anyway, we sat in the waiting room for merely a minute before they called me in. They had me sit down and went straight to work. I hate that feeling of weird, gooey cold stuff on your teeth. They kind that you have no clue as to what it actually is.

I think its funny when the dentists ask you questions. My mouth is pried open as wide as possible, and my orthodontist's assistant is sticking things inside and sucking all the saliva from my entire body as she asks how I'm doing. A little awkward, I must say. But at the same time, I also got to wear these incrdibly cool sunglasses that were this super awesome orange color. I asked if I could keep them, but I don't think my orthodonitst heard me. Either that, or she didn't want to disappoint me with her reply.

My ortho came in and started talking about his many achievements in the area of his proffession while I sat there, looking incredibly ridiculous. I was able to get over it however, when I became aware that most of the population has been, or was going to have to be, in that same situation; with my mouth wide open and people staring down at me, in all seriousness.

Well, they put the brackets on my teeth and then took out this cool mechanism that beeped when they put it on my teeth. I noticed the different pitches in the beeping that allowed for the orthodontist to know when to stop whatever he was doing. It was quite pleasant to listen to, and made the whole experience slightly more enlightening.

Well, they finished up, and I got to look in a mirror at my new teeth. Eh, was my first thought. It isn't as if I wasn't expecting them to be unattractive, but I didn't think I'd look that different. Anyway, I'm probably the only one who thinks so.

My mom took me to get a cinnamon muffin and some starbucks, and then we went for a stroll through the car wash, which is always a way to cheer one up; the feeling of being consumed and tossed about my an enormous cleanly monster is quite the experiance. "It's eating meeee!" I squealed like the five-year-old I portray.

Anyway, I still have not begun my homework, and it is nearly 2:00. Time to get to work!
