So I woke up this morning earlier than usual (blame my Dad), around 9:00. My vision was slightly dizzy and my thoughts muddled, but I couldn't forget the dream I'd had just a moment before, when I'd still lain asleep. This dream was more epic than most, and I decided I would make it into a story line. I've written three or four pages so far (its been hard to think up the right words today, for some reason) and I've changed several things about the story from the dream. Dreams can sometimes make no sense, so changing it was somewhat neccessary ;) Here's a small summary.
Kira is a thirteen year-old, green-eyed girl, with average height (five feet two inches) and long, blond hair. She's strong, clever, and determined. She was born August 9th, 2051.
You heard right. 2051.
The year is 2064, and Kira is the daughter of the president of the United States. She finds out that she is arranged to be married to some prince in the middle-east (arranged marriages are allowed in 2064). Its what is best for her country, but the prince is evil and Kira has no desire to leave home and marry some random guy. So, instead, she is arranged to be married to Cedric Conwell, who is the son of the Vice Pres, Bruce Conwell (they've been arranged to be married ever since Kira was born). Cedric is four years older than her, but they have always been friends. Then comes the conflict.
The middle-eastern guys decide to kidnap Kira. Kira first expects them to take her to that random prince (Malac Ahn, is his name) but instead, they take her to this random dungeon in the middle of the ocean. Kira's whole body aches like crazy the first few days she's there, and Kira realizes that she is growing older much more rapidly than normal. She realizes that if she doesn't escape soon, she'll die of old age. So, after being trapped in the chamber for seven days, she finally escapes. By the time she gets out, she's in her early twenties, possibly up to seven years older.
She returns to her old home, the White House. Instead, she finds a cemetary. She sees many names that she recognizes, one of them being Bruce Conwell (the Vice). But her father is not among them (Phew!). But none of this makes sense. Finally, it dawns on Kira that more time may have passed than she realized. Seven years more time. Every day she had spent in the chamber had been the equivalent of one year. She had been aging just as swiftly, but the room around her (and her mind) hadn't. Don't tell me it doesn't make sense. It's the future.
So Kira roams the now destroyed city of D.C., searching for anyone who might help her. The whole city is turned into a trailer park, with no one to take care of Kira. But then Kira starts noticing some strange things happening with certain people in the city. Strange activites, such as disappearing down alley ways and leaving their homes in the middle of the night. Kira finds an underground rebellion against the prince Malac Ahn.
Kira gets more curious than she should and the rebellious people capture her and mean to question her. She's left alone in a room with no windows, and a man comes to interrogate her. The man is her old friend, Cedric Conwell, whom she was [still] engaged to. He recognizes Kira soon enough, but thinks she may be a spy. Kira finally convinces him of her sincerity, but others in the rebellion still don't trust her. Cedric fills her in on what had happened the past seven years. After Kira had refused the proposal, Malac Ahn had declared war on the United States. Nearly everything they held dear had been destroyed. And the president, Kira's father who's eight years of office were not yet up, had been kidnapped three months before. Kira swears by everything she knows that they are going to do everything they can to get him back and end this war.
And that's your summary for you :) I can't very well tell you what happens, but obviously it'll end well enough. That was a dream, ladies and gentlemen. I thought it was kind of impressive for a dream, at least for one of my dreams... haha. I normally cannot remember my dreams.
Another thing I wanted to talk about was my cookie expedition. I made cookies from scratch today, which I am very proud of, because they taste marvelous. It was my first attempt at scratch cookies, and they turned out just fine :). The un-cooked cookie dough tasted REALLY good, but it made me feel slightly sick, so that was the bad part about that. But anyway, they're called Butterscotch Chip Cookies, and I made enough for ... a lot of people.
So I was going to go to Much Ado About Nothing tonight with Kay, but I ended up not going :(. As you can see. I feel terrible about it. I really did want to see it (and Kay, too!). But I still haven't eaten dinner, my mom is sick, etc. So that's that. ANYHOW I'd better scoot. :DDDD
p.s. I miss Caitlin very very much and I hope she reads this. ;)
